Der Freischütz
by Carl Maria von Weber
Don’t miss the first Boston production in twenty-five years of this thrilling and romantic opera that is a favorite across Europe.
Conducted by Gil Rose and directed by Sam Helfrich, Der Freischütz tells the story of a ranger who makes a deal with the dark side to win a shooting contest and the hand of his beloved. Tenor Daniel Snyder stars as Max and soprano Emily Pulley makes her Opera Boston debut as Agathe.
With its beloved overture and Huntsmens’ Chorus, and the famously eerie Wolf’s Glen scene, Der Freischütz is an unforgettable piece of music theatre, and an operatic event that is not to be missed!
Sung in German with projected English titles
